North Block U12 Cabernet Sauvignon

Voyager Estate North Block U12 Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from North Block 12 of the estate Ullingers Vineyard, tucked away in a corner of Stevens Valley at Wallcliffe, Margaret River.

The lion's share of the fruit is Houghton clone Cabernet, selectively handpicked from hand pruned vines. A tiny portion of Petit Verdot completes the blend.

The grapes are hand sorted and gently destemmed to retain as many whole berries as possible. During fermentation, the cap of grape skins is worked three times daily to extract colour, tannin and flavour.

The wine is pressed to tight grained French oak, around 50% new, to age for 18 months. It is racked every three months to aid clarification, then fined and filtered for bottling.

Deep red, Voyager Estate North Block U12 Cabernet Sauvignon has sweet berry flavours, well integrated French oak and layered tannins. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
